Remembering to Breathe

wire cutters courtesy of J. to help hang the paintings
The paintings are up on the wall, prints packaged and ready to go, the outfit for the affair carefully chosen (casual chic with a bit of an edge).
The butterflies are flying rampant about tomorrow's official opening for this month's solo art exhibit called Abstract Play. A little voice crying Insecurity is coming in loud and clear with words like "impostor", "fraud" and "Who do you think you are?"
Luckily there's a second voice chiming in with words like "Wow!", "Way to go!" and "Frig those paintings look good on the wall!"
And through it all I remember to breathe.

oh! i like that second voice. that second voice is your truth. believe it, as i believe in you. you are so going to ROCK THIS THING, baby! have fun! xo
Remember that the truer voice is often quieter. It doesn't need to over-compensate, convince or force its Truth. It already knows.
Chu fière de toi, chère soeur!!
Love you...
So wish I could be there! Trust me, your work needs to be on those walls. Can't wait to hear all about it!!
PHOTOS STAT! Can't wait to see it all hung. Way to go, Steph! You deserve it! Every second of joy!
I love your honesty in your two different voices, but I am sure the second ones will get louder and clearer as the show starts. All the best for your solo exhibition. Looking forward to seeing your pic. :) xm
I'm with the second voice! This is so exciting, Steph. Have a wonderful opening!! xx
LOVE the image !
Oh yeah, I hear the first voice's fear (and respect that it is trying to keep you safe), but honor the second's wisdom.
Art is about the edge, isn't it? And sharing it? BRAVERY.
Hope the opening goes wonderfully-- I am sure it will.
And yes please, photos are begged for.
warmly,
Kate
