Ten Daily Practices + One

Mud Lake blossom, May 2009

A complement to my list of Basics, I discovered a list of ten gentle daily practices (habits, actions, whatever you want to call them) that seem to have a positive impact on my energy levels and state of mind. In the spirit of climbing out of a late winter funk and returning to Centre, I intend experiment with them for a while and see what comes.

10 Gentle Daily Practices + 1

  1. Make your bed
  2. Put away the previous day’s clothes
  3. Write your morning pages
  4. Take your multivitamin
  5. Drink water
  6. Eat at least two servings of fruit and vegetables a day – each
  7. Go to bed early
  8. If you feel yourself withdrawing in an unhealthy way (you know the difference), reach out
  9. Hug D.
  10. Hug the dog

Bonus practice: Let go of the outcome and trust in the power of small, daily actions

Of course many others came to mind as I typed up my list as did many ways I could improve on what’s there. I like the idea of building on this foundation.

But just for today this list will do. Gentle, gentle is goes.

I love this list. Thanks for sharing it. It's a good reminder that the little things add up.

The list is perfect! I like the most the last two actions. I think they are the most important for sure! I would only add "to do my essay writing " because I am very lazy on doing it)

Have a nice day and an amazing 2012!
